Marriage for same-sex couples have been legal since Nov. 12, 2008 in Connecticut. Civil unions have been phased out since
Oct. 1, 2010, when all existing civil unions became marriages unless they had been annulled or dissolved. However, some couples for very personal reasons would prefer to re-celebrate their union through a Marriage Ceremony and I am happy to accommodate any couple in this regard.

Steve_Janice_SamThe requirements for a same-sex marriage are identical to opposite-sex marriage and can be found here: Getting Your Marriage License

When Civil Unions became legal in October of 2005, I was one of the first Justices of the Peace to perform them and in fact I represented the Connecticut Justice of the Peace organization at the State Capital when the law was officially announced. It was my honor to join numerous same-sex couples in this form of union.

Since same sex marriages became legal, it is my pleasure to offer my services to all couples who seek to be married. I have
done so for couples who live in-state as well as those couples who have traveled from out-of-state.

My proximity to Bradley International Airport (BDL) is convenient for out-of-state couples to fly in, get married and return home all in the same day! However, a convenient overnight stay in a local historic bed and breakfast is wonderful option.
